Kelsay #2

We had Kelsay's second birthday a couple of weeks ago. Wanna know the sad truth? These are the only pictures I go the entire weekend. BAD MOM. The sunglasses pic is actually from the day before her birthday but it expresses her current personality so well.  Her birthday was on Friday. That day was pretty low key. We gave her her big wheel when she got up. She wouldn't ride it at first but got warmed up after a couple hours. She needs to grow into it a bit. The age said 24 months up but she can't quite reach the pedal so it will be a bit before she can actually ride. I made her spaghetti for dinner and Maddy and Kelsay go to have a scoop of ice cream.  She also got this awesome magnet board from Granna. Great entertainment and now I don't have to trip over her when I'm cooking and she is playing in front of the fridge. I was going to do a frozen cake for her but she's obsessed with owls right now so I decided owls instead. It turned out o...

Christmas Megablog

Petting 5 wk old sled dog puppy "Hitch" We got to celebrate Christmas at home this year! My parents flew down on the 20 th and stayed with us until the 23 rd . We had so much fun with them there. We watched Christmas movies, made bread, cooked yummy dinners, checked out Nebraska furniture mart and spent a lot of time playing outside and walking on the walking trail because we were having March in December weather. Christmas eve day we spent almost entirely outside. It was so hot. I think it was almost 80. We went to Christmas eve services at our church and we had hot dogs for supper. It was great to keep things low key and simple. I really enjoyed our Christmas eve. Before bed we read the kids “The Night Before Christmas” and “One Bethlehem Night”. Maddy insisted on leaving cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer. We finished our advent season with the story of Jesus’ birth. I loved that we were home all the way til Christmas because we actually got to...

Legoland!

This week Aaron's sister, Amber, and her two boys came to visit. Theyben is really into legos so we decided to take the kids to Legoland on Friday. We had never been before and I really didn't know much about it. It was OK. It was perfect for our kids and their ages but some of the rides were broken  or partially broken so that was annoying to me. Also, the waterpark part of it which was kind of like a big splash pad/playground was not open because of the season. Also it took them like 20 minutes to get our tickets printed so we could get into the center. The kids really did love it though and Maddy seems to be into legos too now, which would be great. We'll see if it sticks.  As we entered Legoland, the kids got to help "make" lego bricks. Maddy's job was to spin a wheel that "ran" the machine. She took her job super seriously. She was told to turn the wheel as fast as she could so she did. She didn't hear the lady say she could stop...
