The high risk pregnancy doctor's office called today and the results from the chromosome test are normal. This is great news. Praise God! is all I can think over and over again. They said there is a slight variation on chromosome 15 but it is not enough to explain the problems they have seen with the baby. It is possible that Aaron or I could have this variation. If so then we'll know the baby is definitely fine from the chromasomal standpoint. So we are going in tomorrow morning to get our blood drawn to test and see if one of us has this variation. So we are thankful for good news again today. We still don't know what is going on with the heart necessarily. We'll go in for the MRI on Thursday to try to learn more about that. So please keep praying for Maddy and us and that God will protect her. When I think about the past two weeks and how much things have changed it really amazes me what God can do and I attribute all of it and me and Aaron being able to get through these past two weeks to the prayers and encouragement that we've recieved from everyone. I also think I am slowly learning to trust my child to God and realizing that there is nothing that I can do for her except the few small things like eat right, sleep, and take care of myself. Everything else is up to God. It is scary to realize how little control I have or will ever have on how life affects my baby. All I can do is be there to do the best I can and teach and help with what I can and give her into God's hands for the rest. As I said this is very scary but it shouldn't be because God is a much more competent parent than I'll ever be. So anyway ,we really appreciate your prayers and continued prayers and I will let you know what we learn from the MRI. I'm not sure if we'll get the results right away or not. I don't know how they work. The baby has certainly been moving quite a bit over the last couple of weeks which gives hope that she is developing okay.
Tonight is the full-time faculty/staff Christmas party at DBU. We are eating and then they'll do a Christmas tree lighting ceremony for campus. It should be enjoyable. I had to bring a salad for it. DBU provides the main dish (meat) and then the faculty are asked to bring salads, sides, or desserts according to the letter of their last name. I imagine there will be way too much food.
Aaron and I put up the Christmas tree yesterday. Each year we do something different for our tree. We alway have the same oranments, etc. but we also pick something additional to put on it. Last year it was paper snowflakes. We've done popcorn and cranberry strings, popcorn and gumdrop strings (I do not recommend but the cranberry crop was a failure that year and the store didn't have any), ribbons tied in bows, and candy canes. This year we are going to do cinnamon ornaments. It should smell great, but I have to make them first so I'll put up a picture of our tree once I get those done.
We had a great time spending the rest of our break in Lubbock. We ate way too much food there just like everywhere else.
