Puppy 3 week pics

This puppy started out on Aaron's stomach and worked it's way up to his ear. It decided to try out his ear and his hair to see if they were edible. See the pretty eyes! Comfy in the puppy pile. So I'm a little obsessive this time about documenting the puppies lives, but since this is the last time it is kind of fun. At least the last time until we get a barn. Their eyes started opening the day after I posted the last pictures. It is funny to watch because some of them will have about a day where one eye is open and the other is still shut. They look like little pirates or something. Apparently when Aaron went downstairs this morning they had all gotten out of the puppy bed and were laying on a piece of the blanket that was draped over onto the floor. Just sleeping thank goodness! They don't have teeth yet so they can't run around and chew stuff up quite yet. The biggest puppy has been working his way out all week long, so we're going to have to go meet up with ...

Heartbeat! 2 weeks for puppies, insurance woes

Scroll to the bottom for the new update if you've already read what I wrote yesterday! Sorry if you're tired of looking at puppies! I think blogs without pictures are boring so I always try to put pictures, and honestly, this is the only interesting thing I have to take pictures of right now. The puppies are two weeks old. They don't have their eyes open still but they are working really hard to get up on their little legs and walk instead of just crawling to mom on their bellies. I think their eyes should be opening up at the end of this week. So, on Saturday we got our mail around 5 o'clock. In the mail was a horrid note from our dr.'s office saying that our insurance had denied our claim because we failed to meet the pre-existing condition clause. So of course I started freaking out. How are we going to pay for this kid? All I could imagine in my anger and distress at the insurance company was that I was going to have 0 pre-natal care and then have the baby at h...

Chit Chat--1st presentation in grad school--puppies

Aaron being silly. He said he was hot. He is probably so ready to have our kid so I will stop taking pictures of the weird things he does and start taking pictures of the weird things the kid does. Sweet puppies. 1 week old. Mommy Abbey Today is an absolutely gorgeous fall day in Dallas. The weather is so perfect and energizing. I love it! I don't like the cold of winter, but I love the crisp air and cool breeze of fall. I will have to pull out my fall decorations soon in honor of the weather. The puppies were 1 week old yesterday. They are getting bigger and stronger although their eyes aren't open yet and they can still only army crawl around their little bed. A sad thing happened last Friday. The runt died. That was the day after we got their tails done. I felt so guilty because I think I shouldn't have had her tail and dew claws done until later, even if it did cost a little bit more. She was so small. But the problem was that I didn't realize she was the runt. I ha...

"The Puppies Are here!"

My mom says that when we are having puppies she always thinks of that quote from 101 dalmatians, or as Aaron put it this morning when he came running into our bedroom--"Puppies on the ground! Puppies on the ground!" The puppies are all here now. Abbey must have started having them sometime early this morning because there were 4 when we woke up at 7:30 this morning. The dogs have been sleeping outside because Abbey has been waking up way to much and many times a night to go to the bathroom so they've just been outside for several weeks so we don't have to get up. Her little swimming pool birthing bed we made was out there with her so she just climbed in and started the process. She had another one before we left for church and then when we got back she'd had three more but one of them was stillborn or died very shortly after birth. So we have 7 puppies in all--5 females and 2 males. Now if you are a Jew, that is pretty bad karma, but if you are someone trying to ...
