Redneck Swimming pool

 I love this series of pictures of the kids playing in our "redneck swimming pool". It typifys so many things to me: carefree childhood, summer, the simple life, country. Hope you enjoy.

Camper Week part 2

 On Tuesday, a couple of Aaron's Bios analysts flew in for "team building". I'm not sure if it was team building or hazing. They had to go everywhere with our kids and listen to them cry and whine and one of them had to sleep in a tent and freeze all night long.  On Wednesday, we went to Cripple Creek and Victor. We ate lunch in Cripple Creek and stopped for ice cream at the Fortune Club in Victor where we used to get shakes during family reunions when I was a kid.  Cute bench in Victor. We went back to the fossil beds and then back to the camper for a hot dog cookout. We let the kids swim in the stock tank. They had a great time but got cold pretty quick. Kelsay was chattering but refused to get out. I had to sneak up on her to get her out. On Thursday we visited the ranch and went to Garden of the Gods. We ate lunch at the trading post. Life in the Camper Part 1

I wanted to write this earlier this week, but internet up here is a little sketchy so it has been a chore to upload pictures and get the blog site to work for writing. It has been such a great week! We got the camper set up on Saturday with lots of help from Grandpa Fletcher, Uncle Steve, and my parents. We have water from our well and then we created a temporary septic tank for black water. G and G Fletcher gave us a ton of dishes and cooking pots and stuff for the camper. It is a little rustic but it's luxury compared to tent camping which is what I've always done before.  And our property is beautiful. I am going to sink into clinical depression when we have to leave here and go back to Dallas. Our first full day out here, which was Sunday, was really eventful. We visited a church close to our house in the morning. It was ok. We will check out a different church this Sunday I think. We came back to the camper, had some lunch, and then decided to walk across the proper
