The Puppy was rejected.....

BUT, I got my other two entries into the show! Yeah! In a way it's not a really big deal because it is a student show, but then again, not everyone in our class or every student in the art department got in. I got my contour line portrait of a classmate in and a pen and ink drawing of some paint brushes. Three other students in my class got something into the show. The guy who jurored the show is a drawing instructor so that was an extra little bonus. The show will be up until May 14th. Aaron waited after his lab today so he could go see my drawings. That was nice of him. So I guess I am getting a very small piece of recognition. :)

Forth Worth Arts Festival and My Small Bid for Artistic Recognition--among other things

Last Saturday we went over to Ft. Worth to the Art Festival on Main Street. We went because it was free and we were interested in checking out Ft. Worth. We had a really fun day. We walked around for 2 or 3 hours looking at art and listening to live bands and other performers. Some of the art was incredible, some was weird, and one booth was downright obscene, but it was all very interesting and though provoking and a great place to get ideas for decorating or creating your own art. Aaron is very fun to go to these types of things with because he has a certain opinion about what art should be (mainly realistic) and it is hilarious to hear his comments about stuff that doesn't meet his criteria for good art. Some of the things he said were very true and I hope the artist didn't hear him, but I can't guarantee it because he gets kind of loud when voicing his opinions. Some of my favorites were the people who did drawings, probably because I am taking a class in drawing right

The Dog That Was Lost Has Now Been Found

Brandon and Amanda were here this weekend and it was a great weekend. I forgot my camera for everything we did but I think they got some good pictures so maybe they will share. The only dampers on the weekend were that our washer decided to leak and soak the carpet downstairs and a dog I was taking care of for Rachel ran away. Rachel has been taking care of this dog for weeks for one of her friends. He can't have the dog where he's staying right now and he is looking for someone to take it or waiting til he can find a place he can have the dog. Not sure which. Anyhow, her dishwasher backed up and she's not supposed to have the dog in her apartment. Plus it was getting on her nerves cause he'd chewed up the arm of her couch and done some other things. So I told her she should bring him over here. That way he could be with other dogs and wouldn't have to be stuck in her apartment all day getting himself into trouble. So she brought him over on Friday night. Well our

Why I Hat e Modesty

Okay, I don't hate modesty. Before I begin this blog that will probably be rather long and convoluted--- THE TORNADO SIRENS WENT OFF LAST NIGHT! A lady in my class who has a son-in-law on the Carrollton police force said that there were 2 confirmed tornadoes in Carrollton. When the siren went off Aaron did not wake up. I had to wake him up and tell him what was going on. Then we rounded up the dogs and went and hung out in the downstairs bathroom for awhile. We just made it downstairs before the electricity went out. The storm was really strong. Houdini gets stressed out during storms but especially he gets stressed with sirens going off so he insisted on trying to crawl up me/sit on me the whole time we were in the bathroom. I put him in my lap and he started calming down and was better by the time everything went through. When he gets stressed he pants like he has just run 2 miles at a dead sprint. The sirens went off at 3:45 a.m. so it was a short night or a long night depending

A Farewell to Pugley

As some of you know, and some of you don't know, Ashley moved out this week. A couple of weeks ago she quit/got fired from her job at Lorente. No one is really sure which. So this week she packed up all their stuff and took off for Michigan on Wednesday. We are so sad to see Ashley go. On the bright side, the pug is gone! I cannot explain how much better it has been here without the annoying pug snorting and snarfing all over the place. A Farewell to Pugley Oh farewell ugly pug, We will not miss you. We never desired to hug or to kiss you. You coat stank. Your breath was rank. (You ate other dogs poo) You made us cry,"Ugg!" We will not miss you, the ugliest pug. Your snorting and snarfing We really could not bear When you picked your nose with your tongue It made us feel like barfing For our yard their is no repair You have scratched it and bruised it Till nothing can be done. You made us cry "Ugg!" We will not miss you, the grossest, nastiest, most repulsivest
