An Amazing Story

I am sitting in the library working on a paper. I am getting very bored and sick of working on this paper, but I still have many pages to go. So, I thought I'd take a time out and tell you an amazing story about what happened to Aaron yesterday. All of the first year faculty at DBU has to go through the formality of meeting with the trustees of the school. The first years have to be approved by the trustees before they can officially be offered a contract for a second year of teaching. This is usually just a formality and hardly ever results in someone not coming back. So Aaron went to this meeting yesterday morning. The trustees wanted to know things like "What brought you to DBU?" So after they had their conversation, Dr. Linum, the provost, asked Aaron to share with the trustees everything that had been happening with Maddy. So Aaron did that. As he was leaving, one of the trustees asked to talk with him and followed him out of the room. It turned out that this guy was...

Our Friday the 13th Valentines Day

We celebrated V-day yesterday to avoid the crowds. Originally we were going to go to breakfast this morning, but Aaron got a coupon for buy and entree get and entree free at TGI Friday's so we went yesterday for lunch instead. That place would have been pricey without the coupon! I had chicken and shrimp and Aaron had fajitas. We came back home for a little while and then walked down to Chick FilA to get the free snack they were giving away. Turned out to be brownies. Yum! Then we went and got Aaron a haircut. He has been needing one for weeks. Then in the evening we went to Pride and Prejudice at the Greater Lewisville Community Theatre. We both really enjoyed it. It was opening night so there were a few rough spots but all in all they did a good job. The people who played Mr. and Mrs. Bennett were especially entertaining. They did a really good job. Going to plays is not something we often do, so it is kind of funny that that was the first of two plays we'll attend this month...

Still Don't know Where i'm delivering

So I had my appt. with my regular OB this morning. I now have to do non-stress tests weekly to make sure the baby's heart is functioning properly. So we did that this morning. She got the hiccups so it messed up the test a little I guess but as far as everything went it looked okay. I had also gained a lot of weight this month. I was a little shocked. 6 lbs. I guess I was making up for weight I hadn't gained yet. The doc had just gotten the memo this morning about Alberts wanting us to go to Medical City. He was trying to talk to his office this morning to see if we could perhaps go to Plano Presbyterian, which is where Alberts is, because Cruetzmann (the OB) can deliver there. While PP does not have as high of level nursery as MC, PP does have a very high level nursury, much higher than Trinity. So we will see if that can happen. That would be much better because we would not have to find a new doctor. So please pray this will work out if it is the best thing. We will meet wit...

Today's Sonogram

Me at 32 weeks Raccoon drawing for Maddy's room Raccoon figurine from stock show Today was another appointment with the high risk doctor. Things with Maddy are still looking about the same. The umbilical cord is still around her feet so that has remained the same. One thing that I guess he had noticed last time but somehow wasn't communicated was that her abdomen is measuring a little small for her gestational age. It was the same this time but it was new news to us so it was a little jarring. All her other measurements are lining up pretty much at 32 weeks but the abdomen was measuring 29 weeks today. He doesn't know if it means anything or not. Another one of those things to keep an eye on. Because of the abdomen measurement being small he wants us to go in to our doctor every week and get a fetal heart tone to make sure the heart is sounding okay. But the heart was still looking good and all internal organs looked good. But today's appointment was quite upsetting for...
