Most Rockin' Memorial Day ever

Well I didn't really think I'd be posting anything on here until after the wedding. I mean, that is the big event of the week, BUT little did I know that I was going to have the most awesome memorial day I can remember. Nat was in town this weekend (I know he would like to believe that that is why my memorial day was so awesome) and we met up with him on Sunday night to hang out. We went to Tricia's house and ate leftover brisket that I cooked. It turned out okay. Tasty but a little chewy in some places, but it was my first time cooking brisket so it wasn't a bad attempt. Anyway. We went and got in the hot tub after dinner and then came back to our house and played games. Well, Nat's friend Amy lives in Azel which is a few miles west of Ft. Worth. Her dad has a boat so she said that we could go out on the boat with them the next day if we wanted and go tubing. So of course we said we'd love to. So Amy and Nat stayed at our house for the night and then we all hea

The AC is on

For all of you who were horrified that the we had not turned the air conditioner on yet, Aaron and I finally decided to turn it on today. We are starting out trying to keep it on 85 and using just the upstairs ac and seeing how that does for making it bearable in this house. It was 80 degrees when we got up this morning so we kind of felt like we'd probably have to turn it on today. The nights aren't getting as cool as they were a week ago so we aren't getting a head start on the heat of the day anymore. So we'll just to see how high of temp we can get away with and make it bearable in here. Last year we never had our air conditioner turned down below 80 degrees. It worked pretty well. Yes, we were making better money, good money, last year, but we did not want to spend it all on a huge utility bill every month. The cost to heat and cool this place is ridiculous. Something we should have thought about a little longer and harder before jumping into it, but being from Col

I really don't have anything to say but don't let that stop yo..u reading this

First of all it is hot as hades in this house. It is in the 90's here today, but we're trying not to use the ac until June. I don't know if we are going to make it. We have three days of 90 degree weather predicted until it cools off a bit again (to the 80's) so we may break down before we get there. Fortunately it is not extremely humid yet and it still cools off to the low 60's at night. My allergies have been horrible for the past week. I think having our windows open all the time is letting in a lot of pollen and really bothering me so I have been a zombie because I've been taking Benedryl all the time. I hate that stuff but I can't live without it. It's the only medicine that works on my allergies. Claritin and others have no noticeable effect. I forced myself to stay awake through the sleepy period of the medicines effects today and am just now starting to feel perkier. I took the medicine at 9 this morning. I may have to go buy a two liter of DP t

Free Rangers

This has been the month of freebies. I've decided it really pays to know high school teachers. We have been to 4 free movies this month and 2 free Ranger's games. I loved going to the ball games. I really miss being able to watch the Rockies at Coors field. That was always so fun. Anyway the Ranger's won both times so that was cool. I got sunburned yesterday so that is not fun. I'm really annoyed about it because I put sunscreen on but I still got burned. I am so excited for Cindy's wedding in two weeks. I can't wait to see family and friends from Ft. Collins. Tammy and I need to put our heads together and come up with something to do for Cindy for a bachelorette party. Any ideas? I think the hotel may have a pool and maybe a hot tub so we might be able to do that. I should know more to do in Denver but I don't. This Sunday we are having the end of year cell group get together at church. All the small groups come together to talk about the year and have dinn

Graduation Weekend

We just made a fast and furious trip this weekend out to Lubbock for Ethan's graduation from LCU. Here are a few pictures from graduation. We had such a great time. I always laugh about 79 times as much as normal when I am hanging out with my family. It is kind of weird that all my sisters and brother are done with school. It makes me feel old, which is why I think I have been on a night owl binge since going to Lubbock. We never went to bed before midnight while we were there. On Saturday night we stayed up talking with Matt and Brittany until almost 3 a.m. Imagine how young and hip I felt when I found out that my brothers friends came over to his apartment that night to celebrate his graduation with him and that that is how late they stayed up. Also, while Ethan and his friends were unable to make it to church the next morning because they were so tired, I did make it to church with my grandparents at 9:30a.m. and then drove all the way back to Dallas with no naps (lots of Dr. P
