The Fun Has Started

I started my online classes today. I can tell it is going to be a lot of work to squeeze into an 8 week course, but I'm still pretty excited about my classes. I'm taking Digital Imaging which is basically a how to use photo shop class. I'm also taking web design II so I can improve on the skills I learned in web design I. Right now I'm taking a goof off break from working on my assignments.
The position at DBU is looking really good for Aaron right now. He is the number 1 choice to both the dept. head and the--I guess you would call him lead professor--at DBU. They have not pursued an interview with the other applicants for the job. Aaron will meet with the provost on Friday or early next week for an interview. He may also be interviewing with the president of the college at that time. If they say okay, then they will start writing up the contract for him which would begin August 1st. So just keep praying about the job. I know he would love teaching and no research. We've also been really blessed because Brookhaven has given him an online class for summer 1, summer 2, and fall. The classes are a really easy way for him to make some extra money so we are excited that he has those.
We may have thunderstorms here this afternoon. I just heard some thunder and it reminded me. We really need rain so I hope we'll get some. We do not need hail though so I hope we don't get that. Our tomatoes are doing really good and we have a lot of yummy tomatoes coming on so it would be heartbreaking to have hail right now.
We have a lot of fun stuff planned for the next couple of weeks. This Saturday is David Gregory's birthday. He and Beckie are friends from San Juan College and live in Denton. We are going up there to grill hamburgers and there may be some other friends from San Juan College there who now live in the Dallas area also. I haven't seen any of these people except David and Beckie for years so it will be really fun if they come. Then, next Saturday, if all goes as planned, Holly Gaskins and her brother will come down and all of us and Tricia will go to Six Flags! I'm excited about going to the real six flags. Tricia's neighbor may be able to get us some free tickets which would make the experience all the better.
Alright, I need to stop wasting time and start working on my class again. I want to get a lot done so I won't get behind and fail in July when we come to Colorado for the family reunion. We'll have to squeeze in a trip to Aaron's family too so July will be pretty hectic. Oh and Aaron has his 10 year high school reunion too. Yep, better get to work.

Wow, friends from San Juan college. I bet that seems like a long time ago! I bet Aaron is a shoe-in for that job. Hope it works out.

So exciting for Aaron! really hope all works out there. What a blessing that will be. Good luck with your classes. That is tough. We got 4 inches of rain Sunday night and yesterday! Craziness. I finally found some green tomatoes on my roma plant. Pretty excited about that. I also picked my first cucumber. It was tasty. Getting excited about the reunion...talent night and art show here we come!

Getaway to Ticks Bend....I Mean Beavers Bend State Park

Back in April, we decided we needed to do a short family getaway after the semester was over. The last time we'd been on vacation just to vacation (not going to see family in CO) was when we went to San Antonio when Maddy was 3 months old. We found Beavers Bend State Park close to Broken Bow, OK and decided to go there. We booked a cabin in the state park and eagerly awaited the day we could take off for our getaway. We left on Sunday afternoon and stayed through Tuesday afternoon. It was short, but so fun and relaxing. We had no computer and no cell phones while we were up there. We just got to enjoy being around each other and the beautiful scenery.  We built a fire and roasted some marshmallows. Also popped some jiffy pop. Aaron had never done one of those before.  This is a 100 year old cabin they had at the visitor center. I like the mud chinking ( I think that's what it's called). A couple named Comma and Mabel lived in the cabin when the CCC was building t...

We Need Your Prayers

Many of you have probably heard all ready, but Aaron and I got some devastating news today. Our baby will probably not survive outside the womb. They did an amneostasis this afternoon to test for chromasomal defects, which is what they think it is right now. I know I am spelling everything wrong so I hope what I write makes enough sense for everyone to understand what is going on. The specialist we went to see feels that it is triploidy or triamias 18. Those may not be the right names but they are two of the three chromasomal defects. The other is down's syndrome. He did not feel that it was down's. The other two defects are fatal so if we carry the baby to term it will not live but for a few days or hours if one of the defects above is the problem. We will know in 2days. If it is not one of those then we will have to go to a cardiologist and a genetic counselor. The baby had clubbed hands and feel and it's heart is not formed correctly and is not in the right place. Becau...

Another Sonogram

We went to the high risk pregnancy doc today for another sonogram. This time he could see all four chambers of the heart, the pulmonary valve, etc. In his words it looked "dramatically better". He feels there is still some slight compression on the heart and that we need to continue watching it. As of now he cannot see anything that is causing it and the MRI did not see anything either. He also felt that the hands were okay. They are not clenched fists at least as he first thought, meaning that the fingers aren't overlapping each other. Her hands are still in fists and she won't open them but he said he has had other babies that have not opened their fist in the sonogram but the hands have been normal at birth, so we still have a lot of hope for those little hands. He was able to get a better look at the face today, no cleft palate, so that is a huge blessing. The feet are still concerning. They are definitely clubbed but she is also not moving them. She is moving her...
