Vacation Contiues

We are still in Colorado. I am at Cindy and Brad's right now. Brad has been really nice and cooked some yummy food while I've been here .Tomorrow Cindy and I will head up to Ft. Collins and then me, Cindy, and Tammy will go to Cheyenne, WY for Frontier Days on Saturday. It is going to be so fun! Aaron, me, Cindy, and Ethan went a couple of summers ago and we had a blast.
Well, since the reunion we've mostly been in the Delta area seeing Aaron's family. We played cards a lot. They love canasta so we played that really late almost every night. While I was there we stayed at Eric and Amanda's and that was really fun because we got to see our nephews a lot. That is always fun although it wears me out. But they are growing up really fast. Trenton is starting kindergarten this year! They won't be cute babies that want to sit on our laps much longer. They are fun right now because they have gotten to an age where they know who me and Aaron are and they always get so excited when we come. They are also totally willing to jump in the car with us and let us take them places.
We went to the Black Canyon when we were down there this time. I had never been. It is right outside Montrose. If you ever get the chance to go there, go. It is a beautiful and amazing park. It is totally worth the entrance fee you have to pay to get in. One of the pictures on here is of painted wall which is the tallest cliff in the park. It is 2300 ft. of sheer cliff down to the river. That was my favorite thing we saw.
We also went fishing up on the grand mesa this time. We caught 16 fish up there. I caught a fish on a lure. That is the first time that has ever happened to me. It was really fun. I hadn't been fishing in a year.
I rode the train to get over here. I decided I detest the train. It might be fun if you had someone to travel with, but not by yourself. It is so slow. My train was supposed to get in a 7:30 and didn't get in until 9. They had terrible service. I had a hard time getting my seat on the train because they gave me the wrong one and someone was already in it. I was freaking out thinking I wasn't going to get on the train but I did. The scenery was so pretty, but I didn't think it was any more impressive than going down I-70. I would much rather drive.
It has been awesome being here. I am starting to feel a little sad because I know vacation is almost over, but at the same time I'm ready to get back home and get back into a routine and be in my own house in my own bed.

Getaway to Ticks Bend....I Mean Beavers Bend State Park

Back in April, we decided we needed to do a short family getaway after the semester was over. The last time we'd been on vacation just to vacation (not going to see family in CO) was when we went to San Antonio when Maddy was 3 months old. We found Beavers Bend State Park close to Broken Bow, OK and decided to go there. We booked a cabin in the state park and eagerly awaited the day we could take off for our getaway. We left on Sunday afternoon and stayed through Tuesday afternoon. It was short, but so fun and relaxing. We had no computer and no cell phones while we were up there. We just got to enjoy being around each other and the beautiful scenery.  We built a fire and roasted some marshmallows. Also popped some jiffy pop. Aaron had never done one of those before.  This is a 100 year old cabin they had at the visitor center. I like the mud chinking ( I think that's what it's called). A couple named Comma and Mabel lived in the cabin when the CCC was building t...

Another Sonogram

We went to the high risk pregnancy doc today for another sonogram. This time he could see all four chambers of the heart, the pulmonary valve, etc. In his words it looked "dramatically better". He feels there is still some slight compression on the heart and that we need to continue watching it. As of now he cannot see anything that is causing it and the MRI did not see anything either. He also felt that the hands were okay. They are not clenched fists at least as he first thought, meaning that the fingers aren't overlapping each other. Her hands are still in fists and she won't open them but he said he has had other babies that have not opened their fist in the sonogram but the hands have been normal at birth, so we still have a lot of hope for those little hands. He was able to get a better look at the face today, no cleft palate, so that is a huge blessing. The feet are still concerning. They are definitely clubbed but she is also not moving them. She is moving her...

More Miss Maddy pics

Here are some more pictures of Maddy. I know everyone is eager for pictures. We got to put her first little outfit on last night. She got out of the incubator bed and into a regular bassinet so she can now wear clothes and have her own blankies and stuff. It is great.
