My mom says that when we are having puppies she always thinks of that quote from 101 dalmatians, or as Aaron put it this morning when he came running into our bedroom--"Puppies on the ground! Puppies on the ground!"
The puppies are all here now. Abbey must have started having them sometime early this morning because there were 4 when we woke up at 7:30 this morning. The dogs have been sleeping outside because Abbey has been waking up way to much and many times a night to go to the bathroom so they've just been outside for several weeks so we don't have to get up. Her little swimming pool birthing bed we made was out there with her so she just climbed in and started the process. She had another one before we left for church and then when we got back she'd had three more but one of them was stillborn or died very shortly after birth. So we have 7 puppies in all--5 females and 2 males. Now if you are a Jew, that is pretty bad karma, but if you are someone trying to sell puppies, that is great news. Females always sell easier and for a higher price than males. We only have one liver and white and it is a female. She is the smallest but not really the runt. We don't have a runt and a giant like we did with the last litter. They are all pretty comparable in size so that is good. We'll take them to the vet on Tuesday hopefully to get their tails and dew claws done. After these puppies are gone we'll get Abbey fixed and let her retire from her job. As Aaron has pointed out, if we had put all the money her puppies made us in a bank account for dog food, it would probably buy dog food for our dogs for the rest of their lives. We'll keep them inside for now and put some boards up downstairs so that Abbey has to stay on the tiled area while we are gone during the day on Monday and Tuesdays and also at night. Then, hopefully it will be cooler by the time the puppies are old enough to start getting into mischief and then we'll move them to the garage.
I also have a picture on here of a chair cover I got for our ugly recliner. It looks much better. I used to have a sheet over it but this chair cover is great. I got it for about $5 off of ebay. It is brand new.
I have a gecko story that I forgot to share with everyone. This happened a couple of weeks ago. It was a Sunday and Tricia came over to go to Sonic with us for happy hour. Aaron put on his John Deere hat that he hadn't worn in a while. We came back to the house and were sitting at the table talking. Aaron lifted his hat off his head and I saw a gecko sitting right in the middle of his head. I started yelling at Aaron (not sure what because he didn't understand that it was a gecko on his head, just something crazy up there) and Aaron jumped up and started looking around. The gecko scurried down him and finally got off and ran over to the window and under the curtains to try to hide. So we got a tupperware dish and caught him and threw him outside. It was crazy. His hat was hanging up on a hat rack so I have no idea how the gecko got in it or why Aaron didn't notice there was something sitting on his head for that long of time.
Okay, all for now. Come see the puppies in about a month! They will be rambunctious and cute.

so, in reference to your comment, it was at Lake Conchas (or Conchas Dam), NM. Chris' parents have a plot of land and a mobile home out there. It's REALLY nice!
