The official start of summer is next Monday but it is definitely summer time here in the BigD. Lots of humidity and heat. On Sunday Aaron and Tricia ran a 10K in Las Colinas. I was supposed to run but I got strep throat this past week so decided to sit it out and spectate with Maddy.
Aaron cooking up a chicken. He was supposed to pose with a knife and fork but didn't have one.
In Las Colinas by a sculpture called the Mustangs. Maddy love watching the water, the people, and the runners.
Our garden. This is the best we have done on produce since we've been attempting gardening in Dallas. Yum! Love fresh tomatoes. Not sure what I'm going to do with two pieces of okra.
Maddy working on a lemon rind. We had lemon berry slushes yesterday and this was her favorite part.
Jessica came by for supper last night and stayed the night so she could catch her flight to WV this morning. We had a great time.
I love this picture of Maddy. She is completely happy and relaxed and in her element. She loves "floating" in the pool.
So this week we found out that the tube in Maddy's right ear is out and she has fluid behind her ear drum again. Frustrating! This is obviously impairing her hearing in that ear even with the hearing aid. The doctor gave her some antibiotics to try to get the fluid to clear without surgery. We will go back in July right before we leave for Colorado to get it checked. If it is not clear we will have to do a surgery to put in another tube so please be praying about that. Ear tubes are by no means a major surgery but we like to avoid that option all we can.
Otherwise we've just been doing a lot of playing in the kiddie pool, grilling, hanging out with friends, and enjoying summer. Here is a video of Tricia reading to Maddy. She loves Dr. Suess's ABC book. We are prompting her in the video but she started doing this on her own. The little yellow people in the picture are doing what she is doing and I think she saw the picture and decided to try it out:
