Bethany and Aaron relaxing of boppy pillows |
Get ready for picture overload. On Sunday we went back over the mountain to Denver. There were some predictions that it would be snowing over Vail Pass so we were a little worried but the roads were perfect the whole way and our newly repaired car did great. We arrived at Brad and Cindy's around 4 and got to spend a relaxing Sunday afternoon watching the rest of the Bronco game. They won...not that it mattered. Bethany had grown so much. She had progressed from the newborn I met in October to a chubby cheeked baby who loved to smile, laugh, be propped in a sitting position, and practice standing up. The girl did not want to sit down! If she could get someone to hold her in the standing position, trying to bend her to get her to sit down again was like trying to bend a steel beam. She is a strong girl!

This pic gives a false impression. Mostly Maddy tired to take toys away from Bethany instead of sharing them with her |

I love Aunt Sssss (how Maddy tried to say Cindy's name most of the time) |

We had our Christmas celebration on Monday. Brad cooked some excellent steak and shrimp and we had veggies, strawberry salad, and home made rolls to go with it. Delicious! We opened Christmas gifts in the afternoon. Watching the girls open their gifts was the highlight. Bethany was so cute. She just wanted to chew on everything she got. Maddy had to stop and play with each gift. When she got to the present from Cindy and Brad she got some jeans that Uncle Brad had loaded up with $1 bills. Maddy had a great time digging all those dollar bills out of the jeans and playing with them.

Shot of the vacation. Maddy loved her wagon ride. |
Maddy got a wagon from Granna and Grandad so of course we had to go on a walk and try it out. It was fun but time consuming because we had to keep stopping to make Maddy sit down. She kept wanting to dive over the side, sit on her knees, and perform various other acrobatic stunts while the wagon was moving. Bethany enjoyed getting out in the stroller. We had great weather while we were in Denver so we got to go on a walk every day while we were there.

Bethany loved walks too. |

The Christmas celebration was also a combined family graduation party for me. Tam made me a brownie cake. It was supposed to be cake but it turned out to be brownies. None of us realized it was a brownie mix until too late. It was yummy anyway. The family went together and bought me a computer bag/briefcase kind of bag that has wheels so I won't break my back carrying it around to classes. They stuffed it with all kinds of teacher goodies like a flash drive, red pens, and notebook paper. It was great of them to do that for me.
