I love fall! I used to be a bigger fan of summer when we lived in
Colorado but I have always liked fall and it has definitely risen to the
top of my favorite season list since moving to Dallas. Fall means that I
actually can go outside and enjoy being outside again. That is
especially a relief after this summer. It is so great to be able to take
Maddy on a walk in the middle of the day if I want to....and it's a
great way to get her to take a nap without a big wrestling match. Fall
also means the Texas State Fair, which means all the fried food you can
eat, fun with family, and lots of fun animal shows to entertain the two
kids--I mean the kid and the kid at heart when it comes to animals.. I
usually spend some of the fall season missing the crisp air a beautiful
changing colors in Colorado, but this year we actually got to go back to
visit Aaron's family for fall break so we got to have a little taste of
that as well. Here are some great pictures from our fair day and trip:
*Aaron and Tammy went in together to get me a surprise......A Nikon D3100 camera!!!!!!!!! I am still learning how to use it, but I am so excited about it. I was disappointed with how some of the shots I took of the mountains turned out, but hopefully there will be another chance someday to practice again. It was really super great of them to get me this camera and we had fun using it this past week to take lots of pictures of the kids.
Celebrating Jessica's b-day and Maddy's half b-day |
Corn dogs (the food or the people? maybe both) |
Despite the fact that it looks like Maddy is salivating over the corn dog in this picture she refused to take even one bite of her favorite food......sigh. You just never know with this girl |
Funnel cake was deemed worthy by the little gourmand |
Our view from the plane as we flew into Grand Junction. Hard to get a good pic out the plane window but you could see the brilliant gold of the aspens all over the mountains |
Ziggy's spa day. hahahahaha! Maddy decided to decorate Ziggy's forehead with stickers |
We had a photo shoot in Grams garden* |
Maddy and her cousin painting pumpkins |
Smooching the coz |
feeding the ducks |
There was a duck egg by the canal where we went to feed the ducks. I had no idea ducks laid eggs in the fall. |
Another photo shoot |
Going to Telluride. We got to spend Wednesday looking at the beautiful fall colors |
Telluride has a free gondola that you can ride over the mountain to Mountain Village and back |
The four cousins. This was the first time all of them have been together. They had a blast |
