Hee Haw!

The Maddy funnies are piling up so I've got to write them down before I forget them all.

Here is a video of the saga of the animal cracker kitty cat. I love how the kitty cat has his own voice:

Maddy has been picking up lots of expressions from who knows where. The other day she was helping Aaron put up a gate we got for the stairs. He asked her to hand him something and she replied, "Hold on chica."


Maddy's prayer life has developed quite a bit. Up until just recently, I've been helping her say a prayer that she just repeats after me. Well one night she decided she wanted to say her own prayer, but she still didn't know what to say so I asked her to think of something she could tell God she was thankful for. She thought for a minute and then said, "My tee shirt and cupcakes." So we prayed about the tee shirt and cupcakes. One night at dinner she decided to pray. She thanked God for many members of the family by name and then concluded the prayer by saying, "and thank you for ponytails".

I've been trying to do a little Bible devotional activity with Maddy a few mornings a week. She just needs something to focus her brain power and energy and I found a free curriculum online. It is pretty good. Some of the illustrations are kind of odd, but I guess that's what you get for free. Anyway, the important part is that Maddy really enjoys it and is learning a lot from it. This week we've been talking about "God Made Me" and the story of Adam and Eve. So at supper she was telling Daddy and Tammy about what she learned. She told them that God made her and then she stated, "God's at church." So we had to explain that yes, we learn about God at church and he is there at church with us, but God is everywhere, not just at church.

Aaron has started the tradition of telling Maddy stories when he does knee stretches and massages with her. Maddy absolutely loves it. So one day she decided to give me a shoulder massage. She said, "I'm going to tell you a story. Mommy and Daddy got married....and a pumpkin." (This came from a story Aaron told her about me exploding a glass dish with pumpkin stew in it in Ft. Collins. She asks for this story every time it is story time.)


One night we were in Maddy's room getting her ready to go to bed. Randomly, she started giving Aaron a chiropractor adjustment. It was so funny because we didn't know what she was doing at first because she wanted him to cross his arms and then she'd push on his chest. I finally figured out that she'd seen the chiro adjust my back that way and she was giving him "pop pop" as she likes to call it.

This kid does the funniest stuff all day long. I wish I could remember it all, but I'm glad I can at least remember a few of the things that she does and says.

Funny stuff. I always regret that I won't remember half of the good stuff I wish I could. Kid's prayers are the funniest. Daniel is funny because he starts every phrase, "and thank you....."

And thank you for the food,

and thank you we have a good nights sleep

and thank you Miss Freddie drives home safe (old lady at church)

and thank you we have a good time at Nana's tomorrow.

Getaway to Ticks Bend....I Mean Beavers Bend State Park

 Back in April, we decided we needed to do a short family getaway after the semester was over. The last time we'd been on vacation just to vacation (not going to see family in CO) was when we went to San Antonio when Maddy was 3 months old. We found Beavers Bend State Park close to Broken Bow, OK and decided to go there. We booked a cabin in the state park and eagerly awaited the day we could take off for our getaway. We Need Your Prayers

Many of you have probably heard all ready, but Aaron and I got some devastating news today. Our baby will probably not survive outside the womb. They did an amneostasis this afternoon to test for chromasomal defects, which is what they think it is right now. I know I am spelling everything wrong so I hope what I write makes enough sense for everyone to understand what is going on. The specialist we went to see feels that it is triploidy or triamias 18. Those may not be the right names but they are two of the three chromasomal defects. The other is down's syndrome. He did not feel that it was down's. The other two defects are fatal so if we carry the baby to term it will not live but for a few days or hours if one of the defects above is the problem. We will know in 2days. If it is not one of those then we will have to go to a cardiologist and a genetic counselor. The baby had clubbed hands and feel and it's heart is not formed correctly and is not in the right place. Another Sonogram

We went to the high risk pregnancy doc today for another sonogram. This time he could see all four chambers of the heart, the pulmonary valve, etc. In his words it looked "dramatically better". He feels there is still some slight compression on the heart and that we need to continue watching it. As of now he cannot see anything that is causing it and the MRI did not see anything either. He also felt that the hands were okay. They are not clenched fists at least as he first thought, meaning that the fingers aren't overlapping each other. Her hands are still in fists and she won't open them but he said he has had other babies that have not opened their fist in the sonogram but the hands have been normal at birth, so we still have a lot of hope for those little hands. He was able to get a better look at the face today, no cleft palate, so that is a huge blessing. The feet are still concerning. They are definitely clubbed but she is also not moving them.
