Doctor's Notes

Just a quick note to give an update on Maddy's doctor stuff. We had x-rays at Scottish Rite yesterday and they showed, like the ones after she was born, that her hip joints are in. That is a blessing because a lot of kids who have her condition don't have their hip joints in socket. She is still tight but we'll keep working with her and see what we can do. I got a call from the endocrinologist's office this afternoon and they said that Maddy's lab work came back normal. So that is a praise God! We will follow up with him to check on her growth in September.

Flower Power

The pictures say it all. This is what I did today instead of working on my paper. Spring is here!

First Haircut and Yummy BBQ

Cute dress Maddy wore to church today. It was rainy today and although not really cold, we built a fire anyway. In this pic you can see how close Maddy's top teeth are to coming in. Come one teeth! I think we are all ready for you to just get here already. Maddy is a little pyro. She loved just staring at the fire. This is a picture of Maddy right after I trimmed her hair for the first time on Saturday. I just trimmed the front part because it kept falling in her eyes so bad and it was really starting to bug her a lot. So her first haircut isn't that dramatic but it just made her look older to me for some reason. Cute outfit courtesy of Aunt Tammy. The weather this weekend was absolutely gorgeous. I am still sick from some sinus something that I got right after I ran the cowtown. I am so tired of being sick but I did get to enjoy the weekend by being outside some and I cleaned all the flowerbeds and got them ready to plant some beautiful spring flowers. Can't wait to do tha...

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy

That is a quote from The Greatest Game Every Played and it describes our visit to the endocrinologist and the lab work after yesterday. Maddy weighed in at 13 lb 4 oz but they weighed her with all her clothes and diaper on so she probably wasn't anywhere near that big. Still she is on her own little growth curve. We went to the lab upstairs at the hospital and the lady up there was great. Even though Maddy's arms were bruised from the hack job the lady did on her the day before, this lady was able to get her the first time. She was courteous, tried to make Maddy and us as comfortable as possible and was helpful in all ways. It is amazing the difference a person's attitude can make. Great reminder for me to watch myself in what I'm doing each day. So we await lab results to see if everything still looks good and get an idea about what is going on with Maddy's calcium levels. Prayers about that are much appreciated. My grandma did well with her surgery yesterday and ...

3 Prayers

Well today is a crazy day doctor wise for our family. First my Grandma is in surgery this morning as I'm writing this. She should be out soon but please just pray for her recovery and good results. Second thing today is that I believe my Papa is going in for some kind of scan at a neurologist office. He has been having spells when he just kind of passes out and doesn't remember anything and they have been getting worse so they are trying to figure out what is causing that and if there is anything they can do to fix it. Third, Maddy has an endocrinologist appointment today. This is a follow up but they do want bloodwork and that has turned out to be a nightmare so far. They called Monday night wanting us to go get it for the appointment. So we tried at the location here in Carrollton and it was not successful. Maddy is really hard to get because she is a baby and because her condition makes it hard as well. The girl working at the lab had no business sticking anyone with a needl...

Laughs and Lessons From the Cowtown

We ran the Cowtown Half-Marathon in Ft. Worth today. Before we start the race and after we finish the race I always wonder why I run these things. But during the race I know why. Quick shout out to Hannah our baby sitter today. She was awesome! For those who haven;t heard and are interested in times: Aaron: 1.41.27 Mom: 2.02.49 Me: 2.08.34 So a few lessons and laughs from the cowtown: 1. Always leave earlier than you think you need to to get to the race. We left a little later than planned and poor Aaron had to start the race 30 minutes late. However, he was really proud that no one ever passed him the entire race. :) 2. As I was running, I came upon a guy running in a cow suit complete with udder. A little girl (about 6 or 7 years old) was standing in her front yard watching the runners go by. When she saw cow man her eyes got wide and she started yelling excitedly,"Dad! Dad! Look a Dalmatian!" She succeeding in cracking up all the runners in the immediate area, including co...

I Got This!

Maddy makes this same series of sounds every time she is reaching for a toy or gets a toy or has a toy that she want to show you. I personally think she's saying "I got this!" or "I got it!" *note-Aaron dressed her this morning. I think he did a great job!
