My Parents. This is on hike the three of us went on to Gold Camp Road. My mom was trying out her new camera.
Indian dancing we saw at CFD. It was really interesting. This guy's costume was amazing and he was a really impressive dancer.
The rest of the trip was great. After spending a week and a half with Aaron's family I went back over to Denver and the Springs to see my family. Tammy and Cindy and I got to go to Cheyenne Frontier Days. CFD is a huge outdoor rodeo that takes place for a week every July in Cheyenne, WY. The rodeo was 4 hours long. We saw bull riding, saddle and bareback bronc riding, roping, steer wrestling, trick riders, barrel racing, and much more. After the rodeo, Cindy bought us a smoked turkey leg. Yum! Then we went back to Ft. Collins and she got us pretzels at Auntie Anne's. That used to be a favorite place to go when I lived in Ft. Collins. We stopped by Aaron's favorite store in the mall, Pet City, and I tried to guilt Cindy into buying this super cute Jack Russell puppy. He was adorable and wanted to go home with her but she resisted. Too bad Brad wasn't there. I bet I could have guilted him into getting Jackie. :) The trip to Ft. Collins was short because Cindy had to get back to a soccer game.
I hung out at Cindy and Brad's quite a bit because my parents were in Farwell some of the time I was over there. Brad fed me like he was fattening me up for a sacrifice or something. I really think I gained like 10 pounds at their house. It was really fun to get to hang out with them and get to know my new brother-in-law better.
The day before we left to come back to Dallas, we went to my parents. We went on a really beautiful hike on Seven Bridges trail and we had a garden vegetable dinner. Aaron brought Olathe sweet corn and some fresh tomatoes from his grandma's garden. My mom had brought back squash and green beans from Mema's so it was an excellent meal. My dad had really been craving the Olathe sweet corn so it cracked me up at dinner when my mom asked him if he'd like her to get a piece of corn off the stove and put it on his plate. He said, "No! I'm eating tomato right now and that's all I can think about right now." They really need to get a house so they can have a garden next year.
It sure was hard to leave Colorado for good knowing that we may not get back until next summer and not really knowing when we'd see anyone again, but it was also really good to be home after more than a month of running around. It was also nice because Jan and Jessica were here when we got home so we had dinner and hung out with them on Friday night and some of Saturday. They sure a fun to be around. Jan was really nice and brought us Probe (a game) and an aloe vera plant. We'll definitely enjoy both those gifts.
Now it's everyone's turn to come to Dallas and see us. I'd like to be done travelling for a while but I never get tired of having visitors.!
