Happy Halloween! then there were 4, I'm finished with the 30 page atrocity, it's my fun day!

Happy Halloween! Last year I posted a gruesome Halloween story for your enjoyment. This year I am posting a gruesome Halloween picture at the bottom of this blog that will chill you to your bones. Bwahahahahahaha! Happy Haunting! Daisy aka Jessica Freckles ****************************** I must think I'm in a competition to come up with the longest blog title lately. Anyhow, we sold another puppy last night. So Daisy May nee Jessica, Jr. and Freckles have new homes. We only got $300 for Freckles, but that is okay. They are 8 weeks on Sunday so we need to sell them ASAP. We have another guy that may be interested but we haven't heard back from him yet so he may not be anymore. Yesterday I had a marathon session of working on my 30 page paper and I FINISHED IT! This is a huge weight off my shoulders. I feel like I can make it through the rest of the semester without having a mental breakdown now. I will have to proof read of course but that's no big deal. So as a reward, I...

Sold!!! for $400!

We sold the first puppy today! Jessica, Jessica Jr. was the pick of the litter, so you gave your name to a good puppy. The new owners will pick her up next Friday. That is a relief to at least have one down; however, we've had no other calls on any of the puppies so we need to find another place to advertise and keep praying that we can get rid of them all. The people who got this puppy had a Springer already that was 11 years old and they love him so it wasn't hard to sell them a cute little Springer puppy. They are so cute that if you can get people to come look they sell themselves. I am 20 pages down on my 30 page paper now. Hopefully I can bust those last 10 pages out this week without a hitch. I really hope I don't get in another class that requires a paper this long. Please never make your students write a paper this long if you are a teacher, unless it is their dissertation or something major like that. It is torture. Especially since I don't particularly care a...

In Dallas, plant flowers you would normally plant in the summer(in Colorado anyway!) in the fall

I stayed home from church today because I'm sick. I got a little cold over the weekend. I am not sure where it came from. I don't think I've been around anyone who was sick. Anyhow, my throat felt so sore this morning but I think it was just exceptionally dry. After drinking several cups of hot drinks and gargling Aaron's concoction for sore throats, it feels much better. Ugg. I hate being sick! We planted some cosmos back at the beginning of the summer. All summer they looked just horrible. They never bloomed and the plants had a sickly yellow color. Well in the past few weeks they have gotten much better and now they are blooming! I love cosmos. Cosmos are definitely summer flowers in Colorado, but I am learning that what works great in summer in Colorado is better planted in the fall in Dallas. I will probably plant my cosmos around the end of August next year. We did find a flower that is great for summer in Dallas though. It is called vinca and they handle the heat...

Expanding

I'm showing! Aaron was to lazy to stand up to take the picture, thus the weird angle. Piggyback ride! What can I get into next? Fingers make great chew toys. ************************************* My mom and sisters have been hinting that I should put a picture up of myself when I started to show so the picture is mostly for them. It is very strange to look at myself in the mirror and see...a belly. I feel large already although I know I will get a lot bigger than this before it's all over. It is just a strange feeling. I can't explain it. It is kind of cool though because I am starting to feel like I really am pregnant. Now I am excited to feel the baby move. I'm coming to the end of the 4th month and some people can feel their baby around that time, though not everybody. So we'll see what happens. I have always heard the feeling described as butterflies in the stomach but one of my friends who is pregnant told me she would describe it as someone poking you from the...

Fair Weekend

Playing spades. Deciding what to do next after a show. Sand sculpture. This year's theme was King Tut. Butterfly from butterfly gardens. (Ethan got this great picture for me.) *********************** This was the long anticipated fair weekend! Eleven of us got together and went to the Texas State Fair. It was a great day! And a great weekend. Jessica came in on Wednesday so we got lots of good hanging out time with her, and then everyone else came in on Friday. We played games Friday night and then on Saturday morning we got up, ate breakfast, and headed to the fair. We parked at Tricia's house and walked about a mile to get to the fairgrounds. When we got there the ticket people wouldn't let Tricia in because she didn't have her school id so she and Matt had to walk all the way back to her apartment to get it. Meanwhile the rest of us went to get a corn dog (after the usual long drawn out family debate about what we should do) and then went to see a dog show with these...

It's A ....

Girl/boy test. Last day inside. The puppies new home. Look at the sweet bed I found! Oh wait, this is my sister. *************** ...girl? As you can see there is a picture of a beaker full of orange/yellow liquid. Well that's my pee combined with sodium hydroxide. Aaron's professor from York, Dr. Ray, had been doing this test to determine the sex of a baby at 12-13 weeks fetal age for 30 years and he has never been wrong. You combine about a tablespoon of sodium hydroxide with a urine sample and let it sit for 30 minutes. If it turns red, orange, pink, or red it's a girl. If it turns blue or green, it's a boy. Aaron did the test Monday morning but he didn't get a good picture of it because he stirred it up for some reason and it made the pee turn yellow again. So we did again this morning. So if Dr. Ray's fool proof test works, we're having a girl. We're saying we're about 95% sure right now since we've never personally conducted this test before...
