Puppyutia

SOLD!
This puppy went home on Saturday. We got $250 for her. I would have definitely liked a little more since she was a tri but we'll take what we can get!

SOLD! (AGAIN!)

We got $300 for JJ the second go around. Jessica you sure know how to pick a dog! :) She went home with a family that had three kids.

SOLD?

A guy came over last night to look at the puppies. He is looking for a dog that would make a good hunting dog. He liked Mustache (below) and Little Miss. He went home to talk to his wife about which dog they wanted and is supposed to let us know. I think he'll take Mustache, but I don't know.

Needs a home!
Poor Little Miss. She would have a home if weenie lady hadn't given JJ back. She is so cute and sweet. She is calm and would make a great pet for anybody. Aaron wants her to go home with my parents at Thanksgiving but that is not happening. Somehow my Dad equates owning a dog to letting it sleep in your bed. Hmmm.
Needs a home!
Roley is an active boy. I think he is going to be hard to get rid of. Not many people want a dog that is as energetic as him but he is a good boy. He is very responsive and listens when you tell him to stop doing something. Pretty impressive for a 9 week old puppy!

Snowman ornament I made for ornament Christmas exchange party at our church. We're having a Christmas brunch and ornament exchange with our Bible class group at church on the 6th. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on ornaments so I'm making the ones we're giving away. Cheapskate I know, but the form for this was 99 cents at Hobby Lobby and it was half off so I go it for 49 cents! I just used a bunch of stuff I had at home to decorate it.

Other news of the day. We have an ant infestation in our downstairs living area. I put out ant bait things a few weeks ago and thought the problem had been solved but I found a new bed against the wall where a hole is and the ants are inside the wall. I'd asked Aaron to go put some ant spray there last night but he forgot and I found them because I was sweeping and disturbed their ant pile so I couldn't just leave them swarming so I got the ant spray and held my breath and made sure I didn't get any one me and then washed my hands just in case. All the ones that swarmed after I swept their nest are dead, but I have no idea if there are more in the wall. If you hear about two ant eaten skeletons discovered in a home in Dallas I guess you'll know who it is.

Glad you're moving some of those pups. They sure are cute. Abriella really likes dogs. I figure we'll get one some day, but not for a while. Good luck on the ant battle. Eeww.

Hey, did Aaron get my email about his pee experiment? I hadn't heard back from him, so didn't know if he had gotten the email. I think it might have been your email address. Anyway, I'm totally interested. I think it would be cool to see what the results were and see if they're right!

ahhh!! Those pups are soooo cute. I want them all. If only we could afford to feed them and know that we had a place for them, I would take every last one. So adorable. I'm so glad you got the others sold! That's awesome. And ants? ugh. I find few things more bothersome. Except maybe Rosie O'Donnell. Good luck getting rid of them.

Getaway to Ticks Bend....I Mean Beavers Bend State Park

Back in April, we decided we needed to do a short family getaway after the semester was over. The last time we'd been on vacation just to vacation (not going to see family in CO) was when we went to San Antonio when Maddy was 3 months old. We found Beavers Bend State Park close to Broken Bow, OK and decided to go there. We booked a cabin in the state park and eagerly awaited the day we could take off for our getaway. We left on Sunday afternoon and stayed through Tuesday afternoon. It was short, but so fun and relaxing. We had no computer and no cell phones while we were up there. We just got to enjoy being around each other and the beautiful scenery.  We built a fire and roasted some marshmallows. Also popped some jiffy pop. Aaron had never done one of those before.  This is a 100 year old cabin they had at the visitor center. I like the mud chinking ( I think that's what it's called). A couple named Comma and Mabel lived in the cabin when the CCC was building t...

Another Sonogram

We went to the high risk pregnancy doc today for another sonogram. This time he could see all four chambers of the heart, the pulmonary valve, etc. In his words it looked "dramatically better". He feels there is still some slight compression on the heart and that we need to continue watching it. As of now he cannot see anything that is causing it and the MRI did not see anything either. He also felt that the hands were okay. They are not clenched fists at least as he first thought, meaning that the fingers aren't overlapping each other. Her hands are still in fists and she won't open them but he said he has had other babies that have not opened their fist in the sonogram but the hands have been normal at birth, so we still have a lot of hope for those little hands. He was able to get a better look at the face today, no cleft palate, so that is a huge blessing. The feet are still concerning. They are definitely clubbed but she is also not moving them. She is moving her...

More Miss Maddy pics

Here are some more pictures of Maddy. I know everyone is eager for pictures. We got to put her first little outfit on last night. She got out of the incubator bed and into a regular bassinet so she can now wear clothes and have her own blankies and stuff. It is great.
