I will be on the road, headed to West Texas tomorrow on my 30th birthday so I thought I would do this post today as a reflection on what a great decade it's been. When 30 started knocking loudly on my door (about January) I wasn't too sure what I thought. But as I've thought about it, I've come to the realization that I am excited for what this new chapter of my life holds. My 20's were great. God gave me some amazing blessings that are picture throughout this post. How can I not believe that he will give me even more amazing things in my 30's. I'm looking forward to more years with my wonderful husband, watching my daughter grown and mature and learn and be her funny wonderful self, additions to my extended family through niece/nephews and in-laws, a master's degree completed, and running more half-marathons, including the Pike's Peak Ascent, which I registered for today! There are many more things God has in store for my life that I am not even aware of right now. So while it's bittersweet to close the door on my 20's I am ready to move on to a later and greater stage of life! Here are some blessings I've counted through pictures of the last ten years:
My brother-in-law, Brad, who joined the family in 2008. I'm eagerly anticipating my little niece/nephew who will join the Hall family in September.
My future sister-in-law, Jenna. She and my brother Ethan will get married in June.
Maddy's first Christmas. There is nothing like celebrating Christmas with your kids.
Seeing Yankee Boy Basin for the first time and Maddy spending time with Grandpa Fletcher.
Time with Grandma Kim and Grams.
Time with Granna and Grandad.
Extending our family to three.
Maddy getting excellent care at Scottish Rite and beginning her journey of therapy for Arthrogryposis.
Bringing Maddy home on Easter morning last year. Easter will always have even more meaning for me now.
Maddy's birth. This is in NICU shortly after her feeding tube was removed.
New baby girl spending time with her daddy.
Okay, I did not enjoy being pregnant at all but Maddy was totally worth the nine months of discomfort and emotional rollercoasters.
5 years with Aaron--June 2008.
Puppies! I raised 4 litters of puppies while in my 20's. I think they were great preparation for raising a baby.
Seeing Big Bend. I love this area. It is amazing. I want to take Maddy back some day.
Hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim. God has made an amazing creation and I am thankful that he has given me the time and means to be able to enjoy a piece of what he has created.
Aaron's graduation at CSU. Dr. Aaron Fletcher! This was a very triumphant day in the Fletcher household.
I got to live right down the road from my sisters for three years in Ft. Collins. I am so blessed to have had that time to spend with them. This is in Cindy and Tammy's apartment at Ft.Collin's. This is a pretty good example of what we did all the time. ha!
I graduated from York College in 2003 and married Aaron a month later. My life has been rich and better because of him. I am so thankful to have so many of my wonderful memories in my 20's with him.
