Back to the regular ob/gyn

Not too much happened at this appt. today. I have to set up a time to take the glucose test--yea! I hope you all realize that yea is very sarcastic. It sounds like everyone is on board with delivering at Trinity so far. Yea! That's a real one. The only person left to talk to is the doctor in charge of the neonatal unit at Trinity to make sure she is comfortable with us delivering there. We also got a number to call to find a birthing class to go to. He said to start around 32 weeks so we'd have enough time to complete the 6 wk. course and still remember what we learned when we go to deliver. Right now I am down to 2 doctors appointments a month! That is a huge blessing because 1. it means Maddy is doing much better and 2. I don't have to try to go to a million appts. a month. Much less stressful. We are praying that God will continue to keep Maddy's heart looking good and strong and that he will bless her hands and feet. No one really knows what is going on with them now and we probably won't find out anything for sure until she is born. It is kind of stressful to have that suspense, wondering if everything is going to be okay, how bad it is going to be, etc., but we just have to learn to take one day at a time and be thankful that today things are going good. I have gained about 12 lbs. since my first dr. appt. They never tell me that I'm gaining to much so I guess that is pretty good. I forgot to say that when we went to the high risk doc they told us that Maddy weighs 2lbs. 3 oz. right now. That is so amazing how small she is still. I mailed a package with a book in it yesterday that weighed more than she did. It is interesting to think about that.
Med, our gecko of 6 years, died yesterday. He had gotten really blind in the past few months and couldn't see his food. Aaron was having to feed him with tweezers. I think us being gone for 2 weeks put him on his last leg. We had someone coming to feed him but I doubt he forced the food down Med's throat like Aaron did, which I can totally understand. Med was what I got Aaron for our first Christmas married. The geckos are supposed to live 5-7 years so he did good. I think Aaron will miss him.
For those of you who aren't family--my brother-in-law's jeep got stolen from his workplace in Denver this week. They filed a police report but I doubt they will ever see it again. Hopefully their insurance will pay for some of it but I haven't heard. My sister rides the light rail to work so things will work okay for them both to get to work for now, but it is still stressful for them I'm sure.
Well, happy Thursday. Hope you all have a great weekend!

It is so amazing to know that God is using your body to create a beautiful little human, I can't wait to see her, are you guys going to have a 3D ultrasound?? I always like those because you can really see their little faces. I can't wait to see who she looks like. Enjoy your sleep while you can.... :)

So pleased to hear more and more good news. Sorry about Medco. Maybe it's time to look into getting a monkey...:)

No 3D ultrasounds for us. :( We could get one but our insurance doesn't cover it so we're not going to do it. I thought yours were so cool and was hoping we could get one but not going to happen.

No monkeys in this house while I'm alive! Not even if Maddy wants one.

I'd say start taking that birthing class around 30 wks. If I would've waited until 32 wks to take a 6 wk class, I'd have missed the grand finale class! But, it is true that most first timers go over their due date. I was an anomaly!

Glad to hear more good news on Maddy! She'll be perfect no matter what!!

You aren't gaining too MUCH weight at all. I'd say you are definitely on the low side of weight gain if that's all you've gained to this point. Average is about 10 lbs by 20 wks, then about a pound a week after that. If you go to 40 wks, that gives you a 30 lbs weight gain. You should shoot for around that as you were super skinny to begin with! But, as long as Maddy is growing, that's the most important part.

Getaway to Ticks Bend....I Mean Beavers Bend State Park

Back in April, we decided we needed to do a short family getaway after the semester was over. The last time we'd been on vacation just to vacation (not going to see family in CO) was when we went to San Antonio when Maddy was 3 months old. We found Beavers Bend State Park close to Broken Bow, OK and decided to go there. We booked a cabin in the state park and eagerly awaited the day we could take off for our getaway. We left on Sunday afternoon and stayed through Tuesday afternoon. It was short, but so fun and relaxing. We had no computer and no cell phones while we were up there. We just got to enjoy being around each other and the beautiful scenery.  We built a fire and roasted some marshmallows. Also popped some jiffy pop. Aaron had never done one of those before.  This is a 100 year old cabin they had at the visitor center. I like the mud chinking ( I think that's what it's called). A couple named Comma and Mabel lived in the cabin when the CCC was building the

Another Sonogram

We went to the high risk pregnancy doc today for another sonogram. This time he could see all four chambers of the heart, the pulmonary valve, etc. In his words it looked "dramatically better". He feels there is still some slight compression on the heart and that we need to continue watching it. As of now he cannot see anything that is causing it and the MRI did not see anything either. He also felt that the hands were okay. They are not clenched fists at least as he first thought, meaning that the fingers aren't overlapping each other. Her hands are still in fists and she won't open them but he said he has had other babies that have not opened their fist in the sonogram but the hands have been normal at birth, so we still have a lot of hope for those little hands. He was able to get a better look at the face today, no cleft palate, so that is a huge blessing. The feet are still concerning. They are definitely clubbed but she is also not moving them. She is moving her

More Miss Maddy pics

Here are some more pictures of Maddy. I know everyone is eager for pictures. We got to put her first little outfit on last night. She got out of the incubator bed and into a regular bassinet so she can now wear clothes and have her own blankies and stuff. It is great.
