Maddy's First Camping Trip

We went camping this weekend! Aaron and I haven't been camping since 2007 when we hiked the Grand Canyon (just sad) and Maddy has never been camping so it was a great weekend. Maddy is a great little camper. She ate good the whole time and enjoyed constantly being outside. We went with a group from our church so there were tons of other kids for her to play with. I also had the best Saturday afternoon nap in recent memory. It was great and the weather was perfect. Sorry some of these pictures are so tiny.
Loving the balloon from Ms. Shea.
Wagon fun with friends.

Maddy finally discovers how to get some juice out of the juice box.

Nope, sadly the sunset didn't really look quite this unusual. Just my weird camera.

Junk food. Mmmm mmmm good! What else are you going to eat when you camp?
We went out to Penn Farm which was this cool farm from the 1800's that is in the park we camped in. They had walking trails and you could see all the old buildings and machinery.

Wiped out!

Looks like MM had a great time! Glad you all got to go. I love seeing her with the horse and standing there. So awesome!

Looks like a blast! I'm glad you got a nice rest in. :) How could Maddy not be a born camper with you and Aaron as her parents? It only makes sense that she's a natural!

Getaway to Ticks Bend....I Mean Beavers Bend State Park

Back in April, we decided we needed to do a short family getaway after the semester was over. The last time we'd been on vacation just to vacation (not going to see family in CO) was when we went to San Antonio when Maddy was 3 months old. We found Beavers Bend State Park close to Broken Bow, OK and decided to go there. We booked a cabin in the state park and eagerly awaited the day we could take off for our getaway. We left on Sunday afternoon and stayed through Tuesday afternoon. It was short, but so fun and relaxing. We had no computer and no cell phones while we were up there. We just got to enjoy being around each other and the beautiful scenery.  We built a fire and roasted some marshmallows. Also popped some jiffy pop. Aaron had never done one of those before.  This is a 100 year old cabin they had at the visitor center. I like the mud chinking ( I think that's what it's called). A couple named Comma and Mabel lived in the cabin when the CCC was building t...

We Need Your Prayers

Many of you have probably heard all ready, but Aaron and I got some devastating news today. Our baby will probably not survive outside the womb. They did an amneostasis this afternoon to test for chromasomal defects, which is what they think it is right now. I know I am spelling everything wrong so I hope what I write makes enough sense for everyone to understand what is going on. The specialist we went to see feels that it is triploidy or triamias 18. Those may not be the right names but they are two of the three chromasomal defects. The other is down's syndrome. He did not feel that it was down's. The other two defects are fatal so if we carry the baby to term it will not live but for a few days or hours if one of the defects above is the problem. We will know in 2days. If it is not one of those then we will have to go to a cardiologist and a genetic counselor. The baby had clubbed hands and feel and it's heart is not formed correctly and is not in the right place. Becau...

Another Sonogram

We went to the high risk pregnancy doc today for another sonogram. This time he could see all four chambers of the heart, the pulmonary valve, etc. In his words it looked "dramatically better". He feels there is still some slight compression on the heart and that we need to continue watching it. As of now he cannot see anything that is causing it and the MRI did not see anything either. He also felt that the hands were okay. They are not clenched fists at least as he first thought, meaning that the fingers aren't overlapping each other. Her hands are still in fists and she won't open them but he said he has had other babies that have not opened their fist in the sonogram but the hands have been normal at birth, so we still have a lot of hope for those little hands. He was able to get a better look at the face today, no cleft palate, so that is a huge blessing. The feet are still concerning. They are definitely clubbed but she is also not moving them. She is moving her...
