More pics from Christmas Part II and Christmas Part III

A few more pics from our time at Brad and Cindy's. Maddy loved Bethany's bumbo. She sat in it constantly while we were there. The funniest thing was when she ate baking soda in Bethany's room so I made her bring the bumbo into the kitchen where we were playing cards. Next thing I knew Maddy had taken off. I looked down the hall just in time to see her scoot-booking it into Bethany's room with the bumbo on her lap. It was one of the funniest sights I've ever seen in my life. I was laughing so hard I was crying. She sat the bumbo in the middle of Bethany's floor, pulled a graham cracker out, and started leisurely eating the graham cracker while looking around at the pictures on Bethany's walls. Priceless.
 Shoulder ride!

 Strong girl!
 Excited about another walk.

Christmas Part III
It finally turned nasty and snowed Thursday afternoon. We left Denver Thursday morning to get to Colorado Springs before the snow hit. I wished we could have had a little more time in Denver but we had to get to a place where we could still make it out to Deckers to see Aaron's grandparents for a little bit. So we ajourned to my parents house for New Years celebrations.

Maddy got initiated into the family game of whacka-man. Basically it is getting rolled up news papers and hitting each other with them.
New Year's eve we made all kinds of snacks. Tammy did not like the fruit dip I made. :) We pigged out. We also spent the evening playing scrabble and skip bo.

Haha! Love this picture. Aaron getting ready to pour out the new year's toast of sparkling cider.
Maddy enjoying her graham cracker in Bethany's room.
Maddy wanted to be like aunt Tammy and read her book hanging out with a blanket on the couch.

New Year's day we went to Deckers and brought Papa Murphy's pizza for lunch. Aaron's grandmother broker her arm back around Thanksgiving so she was pretty laid up. They enjoyed seeing Maddy. After that we went back to the Springs and packed up the car as much as we could. After a short nights sleep we got up and headed back to Texas. Great holidays and vacation and can't wait to go back again this summer!

I have laughed and laughed thinking about and reliving some of these stories. It was such a fun time. I do which I could have seen Maddy trucking it back to Bethany's room with the bumbo. You got some great pics. Cute cute little girls. More good times ahead!

Getaway to Ticks Bend....I Mean Beavers Bend State Park

Back in April, we decided we needed to do a short family getaway after the semester was over. The last time we'd been on vacation just to vacation (not going to see family in CO) was when we went to San Antonio when Maddy was 3 months old. We found Beavers Bend State Park close to Broken Bow, OK and decided to go there. We booked a cabin in the state park and eagerly awaited the day we could take off for our getaway. We left on Sunday afternoon and stayed through Tuesday afternoon. It was short, but so fun and relaxing. We had no computer and no cell phones while we were up there. We just got to enjoy being around each other and the beautiful scenery.  We built a fire and roasted some marshmallows. Also popped some jiffy pop. Aaron had never done one of those before.  This is a 100 year old cabin they had at the visitor center. I like the mud chinking ( I think that's what it's called). A couple named Comma and Mabel lived in the cabin when the CCC was building t...

Another Sonogram

We went to the high risk pregnancy doc today for another sonogram. This time he could see all four chambers of the heart, the pulmonary valve, etc. In his words it looked "dramatically better". He feels there is still some slight compression on the heart and that we need to continue watching it. As of now he cannot see anything that is causing it and the MRI did not see anything either. He also felt that the hands were okay. They are not clenched fists at least as he first thought, meaning that the fingers aren't overlapping each other. Her hands are still in fists and she won't open them but he said he has had other babies that have not opened their fist in the sonogram but the hands have been normal at birth, so we still have a lot of hope for those little hands. He was able to get a better look at the face today, no cleft palate, so that is a huge blessing. The feet are still concerning. They are definitely clubbed but she is also not moving them. She is moving her...

More Miss Maddy pics

Here are some more pictures of Maddy. I know everyone is eager for pictures. We got to put her first little outfit on last night. She got out of the incubator bed and into a regular bassinet so she can now wear clothes and have her own blankies and stuff. It is great.
