Maddy with me after my presentation. The bracelet I am wearing I got at the Scottish Rite gift shop. They had a sale on. All jewelry $5.
Most of the week was just me working on my paper and taking care of Maddy but on Thursday evening I went to eat BBQ at Rudy's in Denton with our small group. It was the first time all three of our babies were together and it was so fun to see them. One of them I hadn't seen since the day she was born and she has gotten so big! They were all just adorable and the BBQ was really good too.
On Friday we went to see the OT. We didn't do much except figure out more about how much range of motion she has in her arms. She was asleep so the OT was able to get a much better idea about all of that. After the appointment I had to go return the pump I was using to the hospital since it ends up insurance won't pay for the rental. I am boring a pump from a friend while I look for one on Craig's list. Then I had to run home and get Maddy fed and get us changed and headed to DBU for the shower Aaron's department was giving us. We got there and went to the Patriot Cafe for a hamburger. Then we went to the shower. More outpouring of gererosity. More people I'd never met giving us all kinds of wonderful gifts for Maddy. They had the most amazing punch! We also gave the guy back the truck that we were borrowing and another prof is letting us borrow a truck from them. This thing is a beast! It is a Ford F250 crew cab. They said they would sell it to us, but I don't think we are interested. We need something a little more gas mileage friendly. After the shower I raced home while Aaron waited with Maddy to get the truck. I unloaded the stuff from the shower and then took off to go to the women's banquet at our church. It was enjoyable. They gave away door prizes and one of the questions was who had the most lipsticks on them. (Chapstick did not count.) The winner had a total of 17 lipsticks with her. She won.....you guess it.....more lipstick. Ridiculous!
On Saturday I worked on my presentation all day and then one of Aaron's students came over with her husband and made dinner for us. She is celiac AND lactose intolerant. She made a wonderful meal of risotto and chicken. Very, very good. They stayed talking for a loooonnnnggg time.
Today we went to Scottish Rite for recasting. We were, again, impressed with the results. Her feet had come around even more and they were able to get her knees stretched out quite a bit more with this casting because we had her take her bottle while they were working on her and she was much more relaxed than she had been at the previous two castings. The appointment was once again around an hour long so not too tiring for any of us. After we were done we headed to DBU and I gave my presentation. It went okay. I'm just glad it's done. I can't wait to be done with this horrid class.
This weekend Aaron's Dad is coming to visit for a couple of days. So far plans are to take him to eat Texas BBQ somewhere and show his around DBU and take him to Scottish Rite with us. I did not know this until today, but Aaron's dad used to be a Mason so he was really excited when he heard Maddy was going to Scottish Rite.
